The Exercise Bike

I have been missing the cycling classes at BYUI because I really got in shape and toned with those. I'm not much of a runner, so Lane bought me this exercise bike (I assembled it :)) I am very excited to get in shape and toned again!

My Best Friend's Wedding

Jenna Lee Bates & I have been friends since the 8th grade. When I moved to Rocklin, she was the first one to befriend me, and we went through high school and most of college together. We have done so much going to shows, dances, played on soccer teams, EFY, parties...

And now we're both married!

She married her high school sweetheart, Scott Haycock
So I was able to go home for a weekend and be part of their beautiful wedding, and spend a short but great time with my family! Congratulations Jenna & Scott!

Easter 2010

I don't have the Easter Egg hunt pictures on my camera, but here is the night before when we dyed eggs with Faith & Tobie. Tobie accidentally cracked one of his open, and it is the most adorable picture ever! Sunday we watched conference and went up to Lane's parents for brunch, egg hunts, and later for dinner with more of the family. Between the 2 of us we made about $50 with our findings! We're rich!

March'10 stuff

I have this Mexican friend that I work with...Well one day she was asking me if I knew how to make enchiladas. I told her yes and she got excited and asked how I make them. Well I proceeded to tell her that I use enchilada sauce in the can, tortillas, meat and cheese. She gasped and told me I did it wrong. She insisted that she teach me how to make REAL authentic enchiladas; so she took me shopping for the real stuff and made real authentic enchiladas!
Lane has been playing on a city league basketball team with some of his buddies. He enjoys it (especially being "the lead scorer in the league")....He doesn't brag or anything.
We don't usually do much on weekends because everything costs money...Well we decided since the MONSTER TRUCKS were in town, might as well go! It was pretty fun. Even though we didn't see much for him I rooted for "California Kid"...duh, because I'm a Cali girl!
We decided to go big..the next night we went miniature golfing in Levenworth with Blake and the kids. Tobie doesn't really have the attention-span yet I guess for 18 little holes. He had more fun jumping in the gutters, putting his club in the little houses, and running on other group's holes.

Our obsession:

EZ's has a deal to eat after 8pm for $2.88. This includes their deluxe burger, fresh fries, a 32oz soda and some of their delicious EZ sauce. And by deluxe I mean a pretty good size, fresh burger with pickles, lettuce, yummy sauce, and onions, with a toasted bun. SOOO good. We have averaged about 2-3 times a week. Delicious--but disgusting that we've eaten it so much. However, it's cheaper than going to buy ingredients to make a meal!

Hawaii 2010

Well we chose the right week to go to Hawaii (2/14-21) because we got decent weather and avoided the tsunami warnings! If we went a week later, we would have missed all this fun stuff:

A beautiful view (our backyard) from the beach house!

A fun day at the Polynesian Cultural Center--including the luau and awesome show "Breath of Life" (we got to go backstage)

Some famous Matsumoto Shave Ice, and some snorkeling at Hanauma Bay

Paradise Cove Luau

Waikiki, Waiamea, and Pipeline beaches!
Some time in the beautiful Kailua

A hike at Maunawili Falls that was a few miles longer than it should have been!
And some amazing beach picture with my amazing family!

21 with BACK problems?!

So when I moved here in August I started to feel a pinch in my lower back (a feeling which I have gotten before but usually goes away after a few hours). After about 3 weeks it finally went away. The feeling came back at the beginning of December, and since my new years eve stuck in airports the pain has only worstened. It started to affect my sleep, work (standing), and pretty much any postition I could possibly be in; not to mention, my hip was hurting too.
I finally decided to go to a chiropracter, which I had been avoiding because I had never been. Well he could easily feel swelling and tension in my lower back and on the whole left side. He showed me pictures of spines like this one:
He took xrays and adjusted my hip and told me to come back the next day. Well they mentioned there would be soreness from the adjustment, but it just hurt more and more. I went back to look at the xrays and my 5th lumbar vertabrae is pushed forward kind of like in the picture. And the little tip thing on the lumbar isn't really there for some reason (he said I was probably born that way, however my mom said I got xrays when I was little and that didn't show up like that). My left hip is more narrow than my right and is pushed outward. So of course that's where the strain and swelling is coming from. How I'm supposed to fix it? I don't know. What did I do to make it hurt all of the sudden? I have no idea. Will I most likely have problems with it for the rest of my life? Yes. Am I scared to get pregnant now because I'll probably be on bedrest all the time? Definitely. He wants me to go back more and get my hip adjusted but if that won't fix it, then I feel like it's just going to keep adding up and be a waste. So I don't know what the heck to do besides ice it, and take vicodin. The end.
