Our obsession:

EZ's has a deal to eat after 8pm for $2.88. This includes their deluxe burger, fresh fries, a 32oz soda and some of their delicious EZ sauce. And by deluxe I mean a pretty good size, fresh burger with pickles, lettuce, yummy sauce, and onions, with a toasted bun. SOOO good. We have averaged about 2-3 times a week. Delicious--but disgusting that we've eaten it so much. However, it's cheaper than going to buy ingredients to make a meal!

Hawaii 2010

Well we chose the right week to go to Hawaii (2/14-21) because we got decent weather and avoided the tsunami warnings! If we went a week later, we would have missed all this fun stuff:

A beautiful view (our backyard) from the beach house!

A fun day at the Polynesian Cultural Center--including the luau and awesome show "Breath of Life" (we got to go backstage)

Some famous Matsumoto Shave Ice, and some snorkeling at Hanauma Bay

Paradise Cove Luau

Waikiki, Waiamea, and Pipeline beaches!
Some time in the beautiful Kailua

A hike at Maunawili Falls that was a few miles longer than it should have been!
And some amazing beach picture with my amazing family!

21 with BACK problems?!

So when I moved here in August I started to feel a pinch in my lower back (a feeling which I have gotten before but usually goes away after a few hours). After about 3 weeks it finally went away. The feeling came back at the beginning of December, and since my new years eve stuck in airports the pain has only worstened. It started to affect my sleep, work (standing), and pretty much any postition I could possibly be in; not to mention, my hip was hurting too.
I finally decided to go to a chiropracter, which I had been avoiding because I had never been. Well he could easily feel swelling and tension in my lower back and on the whole left side. He showed me pictures of spines like this one:
He took xrays and adjusted my hip and told me to come back the next day. Well they mentioned there would be soreness from the adjustment, but it just hurt more and more. I went back to look at the xrays and my 5th lumbar vertabrae is pushed forward kind of like in the picture. And the little tip thing on the lumbar isn't really there for some reason (he said I was probably born that way, however my mom said I got xrays when I was little and that didn't show up like that). My left hip is more narrow than my right and is pushed outward. So of course that's where the strain and swelling is coming from. How I'm supposed to fix it? I don't know. What did I do to make it hurt all of the sudden? I have no idea. Will I most likely have problems with it for the rest of my life? Yes. Am I scared to get pregnant now because I'll probably be on bedrest all the time? Definitely. He wants me to go back more and get my hip adjusted but if that won't fix it, then I feel like it's just going to keep adding up and be a waste. So I don't know what the heck to do besides ice it, and take vicodin. The end.

January 2010

Like I said before, I went home for Christmas to California with out Lane. He stayed in Wenatchee and worked. Lane didn't feel like he had much of a Christmas, but I had a wonderful time with my family. sorry Lane!! It would have made the trip better if he were there but this is all the fun that I got to do:
Spend time with my siblings (mostly the bros). Finally see my best friend Jenna (who got engaged!!~~getting married on April 10th!!yay). Eat at In'n'out 4 times. Christmas eve/day. Make Dad the infamous "CANDY APPLE STEERINGWHEEL" (running joke in family--for every holiday/birthday that I can remember we would ask what we were getting and dad said "a candy apple steering wheel"...what the heck is that? Well...we finally made him one!). Go to So.Cal. Visit Laguna, Balboa, and Venice Beach. Go to Hollywood. Visit with the Mitchell side and play with my cousins. Visit with the Warr/Foster fam...meet my new adorable cousin Max (Amy and Mark's baby)...Find out BRAD AND BECKY are pregnant!!! hurray!...See my long-lost Stewart family cousins...and go to Kandy's 60th birthday party!!
And on the way back (New year's eve) got stuck in Seattle. I had 3 flights, 2 delays..3rd flight-flew into Wenatchee, didn't land, turned around and flew back to Seattle. I was not a happy camper.

Needless to say, I made it home and got back to the norm. Lane didn't miss out on everything though!!
Christmas present from my parents:

+ =!!!
That's right! We're going to Hawaii with the family Feb. 14-21! Lane has never been, I've been once, and we're soooo very excited!
MEANWHILE:
-Lane is doing well at his new job. He has been getting some good contacts and has received a few calls (commission for him :D)
-My AA from BYU-Idaho that I was so excited about...didn't transfer!! Arghh. Wenatchee Valley College satellites the elementary education program through Central Washington, however since BYUI is a private school, it was not on Central's list of degree transfers. So by June I have to take 30 credits to get an AA from Wenatchee Valley, get a 3.0, pass a test, and be accepted (however they only accept 25 people every 2 years!!) Tough luck. So if I don't get on, I'm just going to do preschool or something. I am annoyed.
Well since I am terrible at updating now, I will probably update again after Hawaii!!

Changes

Halloween has come and gone...Lane was a Kung Fu master and I was a bumblebee. We didn't do anything exciting because all I did was work. Whooo!

Thanksgiving has come and gone as well. This year we spent it with Lane's family. We went to Curt and Laurel's (his uncle) house and had the, of course, delicious dinner. Then we spent the rest of the night playing our usual Settlers of Catan and Hand and Foot. It was a nice day/evening with family. We were also able to attend the temple (2 hours away) for Erin to recieve her endowment. It was so nice to be there with the family as well, we are very happy for her. Erin and Russell are being sealed this month on the 26th as well. :)

ME: I have been finishing my last class online through BYUI and finally finished! Which also means that I now have my ASSOCIATE'S DEGREE! Yay go me!! I would have had it sooner but I took basically a year off, so really all together I did it in about 2 years. My plan now is to finish my BA here at Wenatchee Valley College which has an elementary education program through Central Washington...so hopefully in another 2 years I will be teaching!!

LANE: He was working for Agrofresh (fruit testing with chemicals and stuff), but that eventually had to come to an end...so within a few days another job came up!! We are definitely blessed for him to have work right away. Now he is training for a company called JRCC, where they use equipment called Water Out, cleaning out after water damage (floods, fires, etc). He will be marketing himself in the Wenatchee area to insurance agencies and plummers and such, so he will basically always be on-call. He has already been extremely busy and it has only been a week! Perks are he will have a base salary plus commission, they compensate him for his expenses (so when he's out of town they pay for his hotel and food and gas), and he will be receiving a brand new truck and phone. Downside is that we don't get to see each other much. Which brings me to CHRISTMAS...I am going home to Cali; and he is not. I was planning on going before him and spending time with my family, and then he was going to come home a couple days before Christmas. But with this job, this is the busiest time of the year and he will still be getting started, therefore he will not be able to make it. :( I'm not too happy about it, however I am SO excited to see my family!

So, that is the update. Still not really any pictures. I put some on facebook every once in a while. But I will have some from my Cali trip, so until then!!

October 6, 2009 Update

So I have nothing new or exciting to announce. We both have callings in church now. I'm primary pianist and Lane does Webelos. I got a job at Red Robin and am still doing school. Lane is about to look for a more permanant job. I've been babysitting a little bit as well. Other than that, our life is just a day by day thing. I don't have any new pictures because we haven't really done much. Lane works a lot so I hang out with Kim and her kids a lot. That's pretty much all there is to say right now, sorry we're so boring!

Our home--in Monitor, WA

Well it took a while to get pictures up because we don't have internet but here's some of the pictures of our house after we painted. I tried posting a video of a walk-thru but didn't work so this is it! I posted before and after pictures on Facebook though!

Now we need some visitors!
