It's cold. The sky is constantly a dull gray. I wear my winter coat to school every day. I cuddle in my blanket when I'm home. And I even turned on the heater the other day. What is this all about??!! I am definitely a California girl and need my sun. I'm about to buy a sun therapy lamp or something, because gray in the sky is depressing. BLEH!
Ps. my birthday (which is SUMMER) is in a month...sun? Will you please, pretty please come out???

Week 2...Not so great
So as predicted week 2 was a little harder. The problem was my birthday last week and the weekend of eating that followed. We went out to Dusty's Thursday for my actual birthday, then Friday night we went to Cheesecake Factory before the Mariners game where I had at least a 4,000 calorie dinner, then Saturday was McDonald's on the way home, and Papa Johns for dinner. Then Sunday was birthday lunch for my Dad, and pizza that night for my cousin Beth's birthday, so it was pretty non-stop all weekend. Luckily I still exercised and with this morning's last chance 3 mile run and 45 minutes of lifting I managed to get down to 219.5. So for 2 weeks I'm down 10.5lbs. I'm pretty pleased I didn't gain weight, but I think this week has some potential to drop a few more pounds. I just need to avoid the giant meals and late night eating that I love. Anyway I'm hoping by about week 4 I can post a picture that has some noticeable difference, and hopefully by week 8 or 10 I'm down around 200 or below, so those are my goals.

Week 1
So the first week is in the books. I weighed in this morning and the scale could hardly recognize I was there, somehow it managed to spit our 221.5lbs. So I lost 8.5lbs this week which I think is OK. I am realizing though for me it's easier to exercise than to eat right. I worked out and ran, but all that did was make me hungry all the time so I still indulged with a Dusty Burger one day and didn't really diet over the weekend. But I think my portion control is getting better, and I did say no to some candy and late night snacks. Week 2 on biggest looser always seems to kill people so hopefully I can loose a little this week. I will probably put up another picture after like week 4 for all 2 people who might read this.

Lane's Big Fat Diet
So this is officially my first blog post. This month marks our 2 year anniversary and in that short amount of time I have manged to gain a little over 30lbs. When we first got married I was just under 200lbs and as of last Sunday I was a solid 230lbs. So I bought this home gym last weekend and am determined to get back under 200 and hopefully be a little healthier. As motivation I thought I'd post my progress and pictures so I'd feel accountable to someone besides Jannica and myself. My sister-in-law has been on a diet for about 3 months and has lost about 40lbs so I hope to use that as some motivation as well. Lucky for me Jannica loves me no matter what I look like, but I think she's ok with me wanting to get in better shape.

Tobie Quayd & his buddy: "Uncle Yane"
I have noticed a special little bond between Lane and his nephew, Tobie. Lane goes next door each morning to see if Tobie wants to go to the mail box with him: Tobie hops on his shoulders and they make a 2min trip to check the mail. Tobie has been escaping lately from his house, coming and knocking on our door asking if Lane's home. He's always asking where Lane is; "What's Yane doin'?" When I go over there he wants to call Lane and ask "Yane, you comin my house?" First thing Lane wants to do in the morning is to go see if the kids are awake. It's pretty stinkin cute, so I've been taking some random pictures of the two...Love them!

The Exercise Bike
I have been missing the cycling classes at BYUI because I really got in shape and toned with those. I'm not much of a runner, so Lane bought me this exercise bike (I assembled it :)) I am very excited to get in shape and toned again!

My Best Friend's Wedding
Jenna Lee Bates & I have been friends since the 8th grade. When I moved to Rocklin, she was the first one to befriend me, and we went through high school and most of college together. We have done so much going to shows, dances, played on soccer teams, EFY, parties...
And now we're both married!
She married her high school sweetheart, Scott Haycock
So I was able to go home for a weekend and be part of their beautiful wedding, and spend a short but great time with my family! Congratulations Jenna & Scott!
