Week 36

One week away from being considered "full term"... I can't believe it! I had my doctor's appointment the other day and everything is moving right along. He checked my cervix again and I'm officially dilated 1cm! I know this could mean I still have a few weeks but it could also mean Kobe could be here anytime now! My doctor started talking about things to look for (the things that would mean it's time to go to the hospital) and I started to feel a little overwhelmed! This is actually happening. I could potentially have a baby here within a couple weeks!
I talked to my sister earlier this week after her appointment and she said she was dilated 1cm...and then last night found out she was checking into the hospital and having her baby today! Reality definitely hit then! I can't wait to meet little Reagan...and Kobe's not far behind! It's killing me that I can't go down there and see her in person yet. It will be so much fun having our babies together though!

I was playing "Draw Something" with Britt yesterday and this was my last drawing to her. Just sayin'.

Week 34 (or 35.5?!)

Yesterday we had our 34 week checkup. It was the first appointment where I actually had questions. In the last couple weeks I have been told by a few different people that it looked like I "dropped." I have been having a ton of Braxton Hicks contractions and there is definitely more pressure lower in my pelvis. I've also been told that I look small whenever people ask how far along I am. I started to get a little curious if things are normal. So anyway, my doctor asked about cramping/contractions and I said that I have a lot of the Braxton Hicks. He asked about how many I get a day (8? 10? 12?). ~This is why I was curious~ I get way more than that! In the time that we got to the waiting room and in to see him I had at least 5, and then 2 more as he was asking me about them...and that's about how every other hour goes for me throughout a day. He then decided it'd be a good idea to check my cervix. It was measuring normal but he said where it's at now and with how many contractions I'm having, I may be a little early. He also said my stomach was measuring pretty small (and I hadn't mentioned that yet). So he ordered an ultrasound as soon as they could to check baby's size. His heartbeat was normal at least!

Today we had our ultrasound. I haven't heard what our doctor has to say yet, but the radiologist said he is actually measuring about 9 days early! She said our doctor might not change the due date but his weight and measurements as of now put him at April 10th rather than the 19th. He weighs about 5lbs 11oz (+-13oz). I was expecting her to say that he is small, since my stomach was considered on the small side. She just said it's probably because he is pushed down so low. We saw his little eyelashes, and she pointed out that he has some hair; which I couldn't really decipher. She reconfirmed that he is still a boy! She was trying to get some good pictures of his face but we have a wiggler! This is his chubby little face, and to me it looks like he's glaring. It's not a smooth picture but at least one of his eyes/eyelashes and nose are pretty clear (top of his head to the right- looks like he's laying on his back with his head turned to the side).
We got our stroller/car seat! We're pretty ready for him to be here. I am starting to feel pretty miserable, so my thoughts are usually "Okay, Kobe, you can come anytime now," but when I really think about what is actually happening in 5+ weeks, I start having moments of 'freak out.' When we found out we were pregnant in August, it was warm and softball was going on. That feels like forever ago. But when I consider the time we have left, this whole pregnancy has gone by incredibly fast! I cannot wait to hold him though, and give him loves and watch him grow.
Daddy decided to make his little guy a monkey baby blanket!
Turned out pretty cute and comfy!
And we added curtains to his room. Now we just need some shelves and we're all set!

Week 32

(I decided to get dressed up for my 32 week picture...in my comfy clothes)
This is the point where each week I'm going to look bigger, more swollen, have more of a hunchback, waddle more, etc. I'm hitting all the pregnancy symptoms, I think! I've started to get Braxton Hicks. It'd be nice if that's all you felt for contractions. (HA!) It amazes me that roughly 4lbs can feel so heavy (makes me nervous for how big he gets before he makes his worldly debut). I know he is running out of room in there- I can feel him taking full advantage of the little space he has left. As uncomfortable as it's getting though, it's getting kind of fun playing the game, "Name that Body Part" as he pokes, jabs, punches, kicks, rubs, stretches, scratches, and whatever else he does in my tummy. Feeling his little body parts makes me so excited to hold him outside of my tummy. He's about in this position, among a ton of other weird positions.

I'm just so curious about what he looks like! I have looked at mine and Lane's baby pictures but I still just have no idea what to expect. Here's a couple I have on hand - I'll have to bust out more later.
Well everything is still measuring right and little mister is healthy. After a month of my twice-a-day iron, it hasn't improved much. I don't know what the numbers mean but I was a 9.2 and after a month went up to a 9.8... I'm supposed to be at a 12. My doctor wants to have me take them 3 times a day but he doesn't think my body will absorb that much and it will only lead to severe constipation. So, that's that. Hopefully it will continue to get better by D-day.

I am planning on taking some maternity photos; which I need to do soon because I'm not feeling any cuter as the days tick by. I just need to decide on outfits, poses and places. I don't have much else to add for week 32. Lane's Gran always asks how I'm feeling and then assumes, "swell?" That pretty much sums it up!

(I saw this online and it made me giggle. I bet Kobe does this...taking after both his mom and dad. It's cool, I'm not afraid to admit it. It's when people eat them that I draw the line.)

30 Weeks of Belly Growing

I was going to wait until like 36 weeks to do this but I decided to do it at an even 30 just to see my belly progress. I'll just add to it as I get huger!

Week 30

I like the fruit comparison for this next week, so our baby is the size of a pineapple.
Everything is still measuring on track based off of my doctor's appointment this week so our little monkey is about 3.5lbs and about 16 inches long. He should have the strength to grasp a finger -which I crave- and his brain is developing all those wrinkles - which makes him a genius, right? He is supposed to be growing about .5lbs a week now and that just seems so crazy but I'm already feeling that growth! The ballooning up has now begun. ~eeek!~

I passed my glucose screening last time, but the doctor finally diagnosed my anemia. I have felt that I've been a little anemic for quite a few years now but this is the first time it was noticed I guess because my iron was really low. He put me on a double dose of iron every day, so hopefully that will improve, and maybe I'll have a little bit more energy during these next 10 weeks since energy levels tend to decrease in the last leg of pregnancy. I'm still serving at Red Robin 20-30 hours a week, and I'm sure my hours will decrease in the next month but I plan on working up until the end of March if I can. We'll see how that goes!

Week 29/30 has been extra awesome because my mom has been here! I always knew my mom was a majorly crafty, talented artist, but she continues to amaze me! She can walk into a room and have a vision (or multiple visions) of what it could be. She kept asking for my opinions and ideas but I think her creative mind intimidates me, and I just like everything she comes up with. We got right to painting the first day she was here! (We also couldn't have done it without Lane's help).
I knew I wanted stripes, monkeys, and somewhat Seahawks colors, so her vision continued...
..and of course we needed a little sports added to the room...
...and she trusted me to do a monkey by myself! I think it turned out pretty cute considering I've never painted anything like that on a wall.
Enter the furniture...
...and another one of my mom's many talents: the bedding.
And we have a nursery!
And we got a little spoiled at the baby shower (which I'll post about later). Now there's just a few details left, such as: shelves, curtains, and my mom is sewing the bed skirt, a closet door, and a few other things, but we're ready for him!
I cannot express my gratitude enough for everything my mom has done to help! I couldn't have pictured a more perfect nursery for our little monkey. Now hopefully Kobe doesn't come out hating or having a fear of monkeys!
